These boots are nice leather, well made, good insoles, good traction, good cushioning around ankles and excellent laces. They are too small for me. I ordered my regular size and my toes hit the front of the boot. I would need to order a full size up. These seem to be freshly oiled - perhaps to cover old scratches. There are stains on the packagine (see photo) and the smell is overpowering. Still, I would have kept them if they fit me.I am attaching a photo to document the oil/scratches in case there is a problem with my refund. If so, I will update this review. Otherwise, I would recommend these boots, but keep in mind that they run small.Really like these hiking boots. I bought a second pair for when the other ones wear out. It does take a bit of time to break them in, they are pretty stiff around the ankles but I took them on some short walks around the block. I have done multiple hikes in them, 7+ miles, snow (also snowshoeing) dirt, mud, rocks, etc and my feet have stayed dry and warm. My only complaint is after awhile my right foot starts to hurt a bit but I’m guessing that is just my feet since the left doesn’t bother me.The sizing is accurate, they fit great. The top comes just above the ankle bone. They come stiff in the ankles but it takes only one or two days to break them in so wear them that extra day to break them in, you won’t regret it. Make adjustments as needed to the laces as necessary during first 2-3 days wearing them. Once they’re broken in they are super warm and comfortable. The inner liner helps support arches if you have to be on your feet all day.Fits a little snug, but they should break in fairly quick. I'm a 6, so I ordered 6.5. I'm a little concerned about wearing heavier socks or putting insoles in. Keep in mind, these boots are NOT insulated, so they aren't something you'd want for winter. Maybe early to mid fall or early spring. As for being waterproof, that will have to be tested.I love this Rocky Boot! I wear Rocky boots because I have bad feet and every other boots hurts that I have tried! I can put them on new and wear with out breaking them in! They have lots of space in the toes for hiking and great arch support with the thick sole you never feel the rocks or ground under your feet! This is my third pair I won’t wear anything else ! Also warm feet in the winter !Decent quality and 7.5 fits as expected. Weird fit in the heel though. It makes me feel like they are putting my foot in an odd position and slipping some but I’m hoping they will break in and be better.I normally wear a size 10, but these were a little snug. Upsized to 10.5 and they fit well and are comfortable so far. Time will tell how well they hold up!I use these for work around the farm and so far they have been great. It did take a few good wearings to get the ankle area broken in though.
