These are the best hiking shoes I have ever owned. I wore them everyday on a 3 week trip to alaska in August/September. it rained 80 % of the time I was there. I hiked through soppy, wet terrain and creeks, over glacier silt rocks, wet hilly pebble beaches, etc. Not once did my feet/ socks get wet. Also, when they say these shoes get good traction, they mean it. I have feet issues...some neuropathy & knee issues that contribute to instability, and these shoes are incredibly comfortable and stable. I brought extra hikers thinking I would need to change out when they got wet, but ended up wearing these everyday. Whoever designed these shoes....great job. I have ordered another pair in case, like most good shoes, they are not available in the future. Oreder a size up, I normally wear an 8 to 8.5 in everyday shoes. A size 9 is perfect. These shoes are awesome. Nice quality and definitely have the look of more of a sneaker than hiking shoe, which is exactly what I was looking for. They do run a little big, I’m usually a 7.5 and the 7 was the perfect fit. My only complaint was the first seller “BJF fulfillment” sent me two left shoes, in two different size, and l could only return them, not replace with the right pair. Ended up having to buy from a different seller at a higher cost, although Amazon did make it right when I contacted them.I purchased these shoes for our trip to Alaska. I wanted waterproof and something that looked good with jeans or hiking pants. They kept my feet dry during rain/sleet. The shoes were very comfortable!!I needed shoes to hike in Europe that would be lightweight for packing. These are terrific. I have just been using them at home to break them in before my trip begins. Working great!!I really wanted to love these shoes. I like the color I chose and the "sniker" styling. They were lightweight and looked perfect for the trail walking we like to do in the summer. I knew there was a problem when I first tried to slip into them. At first I thought I needed to loosen the laces more further down the line to get my foot in. But even with the laces loosened all the way down, my foot was still having trouble getting in comfortably. Upon closer inspection (see the yellow lines highlighting it in my photos), the shoe comes up pretty high before the tongue starts. That part of the shoe can't stretch up higher to accommodate a high, and in my case, bony instep. That rubber capped arc over the tongue landed smack on top of my bony instep and I know that if we were hiking in hot weather, by swelling feet would be miserable. That would not be a good place for a blister.I also found that the back of the shoe was extraordinarily high and so stiff that I hurt my heel even trying to put it on. Having used hiking boots for decades, I know that going downhill can cause problems if your shoes have high backs on the heel where the down-pointing attitude of the foot can make the back of the shoe scrape your heel/ankle and cause blisters and pain.If the opening above the tongue was down further about 1-1.5 inches so that the tongue could flex to accommodate the higher instep and if the heel was notched or lower and slightly less stiff, this would be a great shoe. Sadly, they're going back and the search continues.Shoe fit great. Wish They didn’t hurt around the ankle. They are cut too high on ankles for meBought these looking to replace a pair of old Merrell trail running shoes, which I also use for hiking. These snikers fit the bill exactly.Pros: True to size "Heavy duty" in the sense that I think I could do a serious hike in them Relatively cuteCons: Felt like they made my feet look huge! Comfortable, but ultimately too heavy for what I was looking forEnded up returning these.I wore these through London and the Yorkshire Dales on a two-week trip in winter. They were comfortable and kept heavy rain & snow out very well when I wore them along with inexpensive shin gaiters. This way I didn’t have to bring boots along. Be aware though that these are hiking shoes and, while comfortable, they are not as cushy as running shoes. I love that the dark grey color lets them look nice with jeans or dark pants for evening activities.Lovely shoe but unfortunately is quite a narrow fit compared to other Merrell shoes. The fit was good and very supportive on my feet. Especially for my planter fasciitis.great shoes all in allShoe it’s well, feels comfortable and supportive. Not too clunky or heavy with good grip to the soles. Cannot vouch for being waterproof as not yet worn in wet weather. The shoes look great but didn't fit so had to be returned. The seller Hardloop was excellent, quick delivery and a no quibble return.
