At first I didn’t like these because there is no tongue. I have a high instep so I was nervous about being able to get in them. Once I figured out the best way I loved them. They are so comfortable! And no break in required! I wore them for a two week adventure in Peru where we went to Machu Picchu and climbed Huayna Picchu in the pouring rain. I felt super solid even walking down the stone steps with the rain. We also traveled up to the jungle they were perfect for that as well. When we got home we threw them in the washing machine and they literally came out the wash looking like I never wore them.My bf has always been a hardcore Merrell fan and was surprised I went with keens. But his tried and true Merrells that he has had multiple pairs of quality went way down, they got smelly and when we washed them with my keens they wrinkled up and look like he had worn them for years, not just two weeks. Needless to say he’s switching to keens now.
